Upcoming Fundraisers and Tournament

Hello Parents,

We are two months away from the start of our season. I am working on a few fundraisers that will hopefully keep your girls from selling things door to door. Here is the tentative fundraising plan for this upcoming season:

Pre Season Tournament
We have scheduled a tournament that we are hosting on October 4-5. We have teams coming in from all over the state.  The only expense we have for the tournament is the officials. I am working to get some of the officials to donate some time. If any of you are aware of anyone that could officiate as a donation or for a discounted price, please let me know. I will need to contact officials soon to get them lined up.

We will also have the girls and parents helping with score tables for each game as well as a small concessions stand. I was thinking of having a parent in charge of concessions and selling items like drinks and snacks. We could make some baked items to sell as well.

Please let me know if you are interested or able to help this weekend. All the money we make will go directly to the girls player packs (practice uniforms, sweats, backpacks)

Game Program
I want to continue the game program that has been done in the past. We will ask each girl to sell ads for the program. You can start spreading the word now and getting commitments from companies. The prices will be as folllows:

Back cover= $250
Inside back cover/inside front cover= $200
Full Page= $150
Half Page= $75
Quarter Page= $50
We will also have an alumni page where SHS alumni members can donate and be recognized it will be entitled, "Devils of the Past." The minimum donation for this page is $10 but any amount will be accepted.

Each girl will be asked to sell a minimum of $200 worth of ad space. If the $200 minimum is met, the player packs will be 100% covered. Please send all artwork to Coach Oakey at your earliest convenience. We want to have the program completed by our first Region Game in January.

Alumni Dinner and Silent Auction
The last fundraiser we will do is going to be an alumni dinner and silent auction. We are waiting on a date but it will take place during a region home game. Here is how it will work:

We will sell tickets for the event for $7 for adults, $5 for students and $30 for a family of 6. The ticket will get them into both the dinner and the game that night. We will have the dinner catered (I am working on Magelbys right now but am open to anyone that might be interested in catering at a discounted price) and available in the cafeteria from 5-8 p.m. This way people can bring their families to the game and get dinner while they are here. We will be able to sell to the boys team, parents, and fans as well.

In addition to the dinner we will also ask for a few items for a silent auction. The auction will be open from 5-8 p.m and the winner will be announced at half time of the boys game.

In years past, this has been a huge success. I hope that we can create a sense of unity with our alumni and with our boys program and make this a tradition for years to come.

Thank you for being so supportive as I jump in to things here at Springville. I am so excited to get the season underway and can't wait to build on the tradition that is so strong here.
